Lazernaut is a Danish polymath who works with music and video games, sometimes blending the two. Creatively influenced by
’80s and ’90s media, Lazernaut’s work is both nostalgic
and futuristic.
A nineties kid, Lazernaut was inspired by video games of the era, including
Capcom’s Mega Man series, Nintendo games (and as such Koji Kondo’s work) and works by Rare (David Wise as the composer), and developed a fascination with percussive and synth sounds after experimenting with his uncle’s keyboards from the ‘80s. The Danish producer has also credited bands like Kraftwerk and The Prodigy for influencing his musical tastes.
Lazernaut describes making music and games as a way to both relive the amazing experiences they offer as well as try and give others such an experience.
