Recently a new game jam was held called Dino Jam. As you can probably tell, the theme revolves around dinosaurs. I was asked by Manisha to write some music and of course I happily obliged. I could tell early on that I’d have to write a type of music I’d never written before, which made me very eager to get started. It’s always great to get out of your comfort zone.
From the start it was clear to me the game would be very cute. With that in mind, I started thinking about Super Mario World. This game, and many others I grew up with, feature bongos as one of the central percussion. I found some samples of bongos and started playing around. From there on, the music pretty much wrote itself and ended up writing 4 tracks.
